Over the past few decades, astronomical observations have provided conclusive evidence that our universe has been and continues to expand, at an ever-increasing pace.
The inescapable conclusion from this and the idea at the heart of the cosmological model known as the Big Bang theory is that the universe was once imperceptibly small: a singularity.

This visually stunning, fully interactive app details that process of creation, and traces the development of the model that now frames our understanding of how we came to be.
The app features real images, video clips, and illustrations of the current universe and its birth, as well as an audio recording of the "sound" of the Big Bang. Pop-up windows offer additional explanation that enhances the reader-friendly text.
The application was created by the publisher of the internationally renowned Newton Graphic Science magazine, acclaimed for its use of scientifically accurate illustrations that, for the past 30 years, have helped the general public understand otherwise difficult and enigmatic scientific topics, ranging from molecular biology and dinosaurs to astrophysics and earthquakes.
